Adventitious

by Abby Mitton

After having kept a piece of plywood in storage, without having any use for several months, I had decided that I should try something unordinary with it, to take the wood back to it’s natural state yet making it awkward and out of place, since it really has no way of going back that easily. From it’s original form, from tree, to processed wood, to a recreation of it’s origin, I created this. A vertically standing slab of plywood, with mossy undergrowth, tree knots, and several sturdy branches.

Made for my Experimenting with Materials class this last semester.

Finished in May of 2013
